Northern Star Resources – Pogo Gold Mine
Conducted an operational review of the geotechnical function and systems at Pogo Gold Mine to help streamline design processes while maintaining the appropriate level of analysis. Provided mentoring and operational geotechnical support to site personnel and geotechnical team.
Gold Fields Australia – Granny Smith Underground Mine
Provide operational geotechnical support to the site geotechnical team, and undertake project work including ground support review, geotechnical data collection, seismic system expansion and implementation of real time instrumentation monitoring.
Westgold Resources – Central Murchison Gold Project
Provide operational geotechnical support to four underground and two open pit sites utilising a combination of mechanical and handheld mining techniques. The geotechnical engineer is a shared resource that services a range of specialised requirements for each mine and reports to each sites specific mining and technical team. The geotechnical requirements include site support, routine inspections, stope optimisation, mapping and development of geotechnical models, review of GCMP and support standards, design of instrumentation, and the commissioning of new mines and the re-commissioning of old mines.
Pantoro Resources – Halls Creek Mining District
Provide operational geotechnical support to underground and open pit sites, as well as provide geotechnical and project support to the commissioning of a new underground mine. Oversee the ground support design and geotechnical requirements of new portal for a second decline. The geotechnical engineer reports to a centralised mining and technical team and is required to perform routine inspections, analysis of instrumentation data, review of GCMP and support standards.
Newmont Ghana Gold – Subika Underground
Conducted an operational review of the geotechnical function and systems for the newly developed Subika Underground Mine. Provide operational geotechnical support to site personnel and geotechnical team, along with helping to develop their procedures and processes to ensure key tasks are formalised, such as: underground routine inspections, instrumentation and QAQC, ground support designs, stope reconciliations and management plans.
MMG Limited – Roseberry Underground Mine
Provide operational geotechnical support to the site geotechnical team, and coverage for annual leave. Undertake daily geotechnical requirements along with geotechnical data collection, seismic system assessments in squeezing ground conditions.
Gold Fields Australia – St Ives Gold Invincible Underground Mine
Provide operational geotechnical support and mentoring to the site geotechnical team. Undertake daily geotechnical requirements along with geotechnical data collection, mining strategy, squeezing ground conditions. Provided technical assistance during the implementation of paste fill operations and drive alternative mixture design trial due to use of hyper-saline water.
